Convener of the #BringBackOurGirls Group, Obiageli Ezekwesili, said she hopes the 200 girls reportedly rescued by Nigerian troops from Sambisa Forest are the #ChibokGirls kidnapped by Boko Haram last year.
Speaking via telephone on Channels TV News at 10 on Tuesday night, she expressed wishes some of the schoolgirls would be among the rescued lot.
She said she already contacted an influential member among the Chibok parents whose children were abducted.
The Chibok father, she said, is abandoning a trip to return to Chibok in hope the rescued girls are the Chibok girls.
The Nigerian Army had announced that troops freed 200 girls from the Boko Haram stronghold.
It, however, said the identity of the girls could not be ascertained at the moment.
Nigerians are holding their breath and waiting to hear reports the rescued girls are the ones whose kidnap on April 14, 2014, generated global uproar.
The military also said 93 other women were freed by the troops.
Ezekwesili said while Nigerians wait for the identity of the girls to be confirmed, they need to rejoice with the freed women.
